Therapy with Children

Working with children is really working with families, because everything that is happening for a child is happening for a family in some form or another. Struggles with loss, trauma and change, sibling or peer conflict, worries or overwhelming emotions are some of the most common reasons kids come for therapy. Using play and interpersonal approaches, therapy can help families and children with voicing their experiences, learning engaging and fun ways to manage emotions and develop skills for handling conflict and communication. play therapy

The first session is with the parent or guardian alone. We can talk about the challenges, and the strengths and strategies you already have to help you through, and make a plan for supporting the child and family together.

Note: Therapy with children is done with Stephanie only.
